A Day at the Lake...

Here are some pictures of Emma's first boatride for the year and just some other pictures from the day at the lake, weekend before last. There is a bit of a glare on some of them. We've been up there several times this year but the weather has never been pretty enough for a boatride. However, we finally got to enjoy 2 that day and Emma had a lot of fun!

Here she is taking pictures and telling everyone to say "cheeseburger".

Here she is checking out the pictures she took!

Here she is so proud of her work!

This picture is just sweet to me! Although she's probably trying to figure out what she can get into next!

Here she is with Zoe looking out at the water! She LOVES Zoe!!!

It was definitely a fun day!

Background Change

Ok so I've been playing with my background, it's been a little more time consuming then I thought. This is probably because I have no idea what I'm doing! So just hang in there and hopefully I'll be finished soon. I'm actually wanting to add a cute header but I'm having a hard time figuring it out so if you have any advice please let me know. In the meantime here is a picture of Emma.

One of my best friends, Shannon, made this outfit for her birthday. She actually made another one as well that is just as precious. Hopefully she'll let me take her picture in it soon. Hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was busy as usual but hopefully I can get some pictures posted of it soon.

Birthday Pictures...

Here are some pictures from her party, it was a lot of fun! We are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends. Enjoy!

And I just have to include this one last picture, after everyone left she decided the rest of the weekend anytime she got a cupcake we had to sing Happy Birthday to her all over again and she had to blow the candles out so this is later that night. It was too cute! I think we sang Happy Birthday a lot that weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Halfway there...

So today marks 20 weeks for me, which means I am halfway through this pregnancy. I have to admit it has gone by so much faster then it did with Emma. I think because I'm occupied with her and before I know it another week is gone. Anyway, I have not forgotten about posting pictures from Emma's birthday I've just preoccupied. But I do have pictures finally from the mini photo shoot we had done 2 months ago. I was going to recommend this guy but not after the fiasco we went through to get our pictures. They are great though but I will not be using him again. So here are some of them!

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Father's Day!!

Most men don't read blogs but I did want to wish everyone a Happy Father's Day. Friday when I was off me and Emma went to get Ben's Father's Day gift. He'd been saying he wanted some nice flip flops (all he wears are Teva's) to wear. I told her we were going to the store to get daddy a prize for Father's Day and of course went into detail about it all. This of course was assuming she'd forget it all, boy was I wrong. She talked about Father's Day all day Friday to the point where I just knew his gift wouldn't make it till Sunday. She did so good Friday night though and didn't mention it so I thought she was finished talking about it. We went to the lake bright and early Saturday morning and stayed till later Saturday night, still no mention of it. When we get home we are putting her to bed and Ben said tomorrow is daddy's day. She didn't say anything and I just said that's not how she knows it (you know with a 2 year old you have to be precise and I had been calling it Father's Day) so he said tomorrow is Father's Day. She then said "got you new flip flops daddy". We both laughed, I actually was crying I was laughing so hard. Needless to say she doesn't forget a thing! He said that's ok, I'll act surprised in the morning. Morning comes and we get her up and I tell her it's Father's Day and to take the present to daddy which she did but when she handed it to him she said again "got you new flip flops daddy"!! We laughed again!! It's amazing the memory of a 2 year old! So I just thought I'd share our Father's Day story for you!

IT'S OFFICIAL...

We are having a BOY!!! We really had no doubt after my ultrasound at Virginia College (as I've started buying boy things along with bedding) but it was nice for it to be confirmed at my big ultrasound at the doctor's office. What's most important though is everything looks normal, meaning all his organs are developing like they should. That was such a relief. While it's so nice to know that he is a he its even better knowing he's developing. I'll try and scan some pictures and post them I just haven't done that yet. His heartrate was 155 today which was excellent and his estimated size at this point is 11 ounces. Our doctor's office got a new ultrasound machine meaning they can now do 4D ultrasounds but that also means their regular ultrasounds are that much better. The pictures are SO much clearer then they were when he we got his first pictures or with Emma so that is a big plus! In other news we discussed them taking him at 39 weeks again and that was pretty much confirmed at this point. My doctor said I want to take him then if you'll let me and I laughed and said that was FINE WITH ME!!! So I'm happy to report me and Brooks are both doing well!

I've been off for a few days so I have really been enjoying this extra time with Emma and we've been spending it at the pool. She really likes the pool now so I'm glad. We go on vacation soon so I wanted her to like the pool. I promise to post pictures of Emma's birthday I just might be behind a little with the few extra days off.

I hope everyone has a very happy Friday!

I've been TAGGED!

Heather tagged me to list six unimportant things that make me happy. Here are the rules: 1) List Six Unimportant Things That Make You Happy. 2) Mention and link to the person who tagged you. 3) Tag six of your favorite bloggers to play along, and comment on their blog to let them know they've been tagged. Here's my list:

1. Clean sheets, I didn't even have to think of this one. If I could wash them everyday I would but that's not realistic.

2. Tivo - I can't live without it (so this technically might not be considered unimportant on my list!)

3. Short lines at the grocery store or anywhere for that matter, can it get any better then this? This is very rare.

4. A clean house, I know this sounds simple but with a 2 year old it's nearly impossible to have a clean house all the time. Although I wouldn't trade her for a clean house, she's everything to us!

5. Emma talking in the backseat of the car, it means I have a healthy baby girl who can talk (which is very important) and boy do I love to hear what she has to say or what she's even singing at times. It brings a smile to my face any time!

6. Diet Mt. Dew - I could not live without it! :)

I now tag:

1. Amber
2. Ashley
3. Amy
4. Tiffany
5. Shannon
6. Tara

Happy Monday!

Tomorrow my baby girl turns 2...

So tomorrow Miss Emma Bean turns 2 at exactly 12:55 p.m. I can not believe it. Where has the last 2 years gone? I can't think about it or it makes me sad. I'm so excited about each new day and adventure with her but it literally feels like it's passing before me so fast I can't savor it enough! I was extremely emotional around her first birthday and I just figured it was because it was such a monumental birthday. Well I was wrong. I've found myself just as emotional this week (just like last year...it lasted the entire week of her birthday). It's like I can't hold her long enough at night time or kiss her enough or get enough of her. It is like I'm clinging to her. One day that will drive her crazy, I know! But until then I'm just going to continue to smother her with love and kisses!

Last night we asked her what she wanted for her birthday (she's been singing Happy Birthday all week)and she said presents and grinned real big and I said what else and she said as plain as day..."baby sister". Ben and I both laughed. Ben said how about a baby brother and before she could answer he said what is baby brother's name and she said "Baby Brother Brooks". It was so sweet. So I think truth be told she really wanted a little sister but I know when her little brother gets here she'll love him just the same! My plan is either tonight or tomorrow to post pictures of Miss Emma from the last 2 years. Like I said that's my plan, we'll see if that happens. :) I am off tomorrow for Emma's birthday and we're going to the Zoo and lunch. I can't wait, I can't think of a better way to spend the day!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Pictures

I was supposed to post these Thursday and forgot. Here are some pictures from not this weekend but the weekend before. We went to my mother-in-law's house, she has a pool and we had a good time. The water was pretty cold but Emma didn't care, she played on the steps and had a good time.

I had to take a behind picture, she just looks so cute! Such a big girl!

Here she is putting her baby in the water! She's such a good mommy!

We don't want baby to get a sunburn so Emma decided she needed sunblock lotion too!

After putting the sunblock on baby, she wanted to wash her hands off!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Our Little Princess...

I finally remembered to get the pictures off the camera. Here are just a few cute pictures of our little princess!

Here are a few pictures of Emma dancing while watching the finale of Dancing with the Stars. We don't normally watch it but when we were flipping through the channels and she started dancing we ended up watching the whole thing. It was too cute! I wish I had it on video.

We saw a backpack this weekend at a birthday party (for a boy) we went too and I loved it. Emma starts Mother's Day Out in the fall so I went to get her one. I'm glad I went because this was the last one like this one. I'm going to get her name or initials put on it I just haven't decided which yet so I didn't do it. She LOVES her backpack and has been carrying it around ever since. She looks like such a big girl!!

Tomorrow I'll post some pictures from our weekend. There are several good ones!!

Happy Wednesday!

Another good recipe...

Well 2 actually. Last night I made Swiss Stuffing Chicken and Green Bean Bundles and boy were they both yummy! I found them here, if you don't check Kelly's recipe blog you should. I've tried several things on there and they are all good. I'm completely satisfied so far! Emma LOVED them both but you could tell the green bean bundles were her favorite. She was not real interested in the bacon just the green beans themselves and boy were they yummy! If you decide to try them please let me know. Also if you have any great recipes that are easy that you can prepare the night before please let me know. With work and then the gym everyday I need something like a casserole I can put together the night before so I'm always open for ideas.

I forgot to get my pictures from the weekend off the camera again so I'm going to leave you with a picture from our Girls Night Out group. This is definitely my extended family! I love all my girls so much and don't know what I would do without their friendship. For those of you that don't know most of us went to high school together and most all have kids around the same age and then 4 of us are pregnant together right now, 3 with 2nd children and 1 with her first! Just thought I'd give you all a little update!
