Emma's Dance Recital

A few weeks ago we had Emma's dance recital. It was the same weekend as Mother's Day. Emma did SO GOOD we were so proud of her. She's come so far in her 2 short years of dance. It's amazing! Here are some pictures of the night.

Ready for round 1

Amy and Shirley came to watch her dance (they came last year also and we appreciated it so much)

Trish and Greg (Ben's dad) came out to see her dance as well

Nana and Poppy came and gave her flowers too

Nanny (Ben's mom) came as well!

We are so blessed to have family and friends that came out to see her dance at her recital. The entire recital was so very good and we thoroughly enjoyed her 2nd year of dance.

Ice Cream, Ice Cream, We All Scream for Ice Cream

We sure do love having a Yogurt Mountain not far from us and we take advantage of it quite a bit. Emma and Brooks have even gotten to where they ask to go, it's too funny. This particular day they wanted to go with mommy to buy groceries so I decided to surprise them with a trip to get ice cream before.

Emma's 1st Trip to "Big" School

Last Friday I needed to run by where Emma will be starting school in the fall. We had registration papers sent home through her preschool a few weeks ago and sent those in. For their first year you have to do that and then you have to do it online again and then print them and take them up there. Once you have completed that they are "officially" registered for kindergarten! So we are now "officially" officially registered for kindergarten and this momma isn't quite sure she's ready. I think Emma is for sure just not me! :) Here are some pictures from our trip.

I showed Emma the playground and she told Brooks all about how this was gonna be her new big school. Hopefully she'll be just as excited come August as she was on Friday!

Emma's End of the Year Party

Last Thursday was Emma's end of the year party at school. I took off half a day so I could go enjoy it with her and then pick up Brooks. We had a great time at her party. It hadn't hit me that preschool was over till I pulled in the parking lot that day. Emma and her class were playing on the playground and she didn't see me but I saw her on a glider or swing grinning from ear to ear. She looked so cute and I wish I could have snapped a picture right then to remember that face. I think it was at that point it hit me. Our time had finally come to an end with preschool....how could that be? So as I waited a few more minutes before going in to help get ready for the party I threw myself a little pity party and cried. I can't really say if it made me feel any better if anything it just opened up my tears for the next several days! I did finally get it together and went inside. Here are some pictures from her party.

We had a great party and Emma was blessed with great friends I hope she's still best friends with when she's my age and wonderful teachers at her preschool and for that I am very thankful!

Emma's 4K Graduation

I'm behind on posting so I thought it might be easier to start with the most recent and work my way back. Today was Emma's 4K graduation from Pre-School. I think I handled it so well today because I cried so much before her last party yesterday and then again a good bit last night and as I type this I'm crying again! The realization that her first 5 years are over has hit me much harder then I anticipated. Of course I say that and how can they not be hard on any parent. She has changed and grown so much in these first 5 years it's unbelievable. She's went from this very shy little girl to this very outgoing little girl so fast. I can only imagine what the next 5 years and beyond hold for her. When I walked into the school yesterday and even today I can remember the very first time we went in to meet the teacher a few years back. I remember it all like it was yesterday. All I could think about was how is it already time to be gone. We are SO VERY PROUD of our sweet baby girl!!! Here are some pictures from the day.
