Goodbye 2009...

I can not believe another year has come and gone. Where did the year go? I look back on this year and I have to say it was a good year to me and my family. In February I was able to start working 4 days a week. If I have to work (which I do) then having an extra day off is really nice. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to do that for years. March 1st I found out I was pregnant again. I remember the day as if it were yesterday (just like I remember the day I found out I was pregnant with Emma). We had went out the night before for one of my best friends birthdays, it snowed that night and Emma had spent the night with my mom. We got up and went got her. I had taken a few pregnancy tests and all came back negative. That afternoon when she took her nap I was talking to Ben about it and decided for whatever reason to take 1 more test. That one came back positive. I remember being so happy, scared, overwhelmed and crying. It was a GREAT day!! :) In May we found out the sweet baby I was carrying was a boy. I said all along I wanted another girl so Emma would have a best friend but when I heard it was a boy I was giddy like I didn't ever expect to be, like I was when they told me Emma was a girl. In June Emma turned 2...2, where had the last 2 years gone? She had changed so much in the last year it was truly amazing. July we went on our family vacation and had a blast even though I was 22 weeks pregnant and it was BURNING up! LOL! I swear this had to be the hottest summer ever (I know it really wasn't but being pregnant it sure felt like it). August I turned another year older (fastly approaching 30) and the summer was coming to an end and we were ready to meet Brooks. September was when Emma started Mothers Day Out. For those of you that know me, know that was HUGE. I knew it was time and I knew she was ready but the thought of someone else taking care of my baby made me sick to my stomach. No one could do it like I could or my family. But I have to say we were blessed with the best teacher we could ask for. She made our transition (mine and Ben's, lol) as smooth as possible and Emma loves her. The way Emma has changed just since then is unbelievable. I am SO glad I went ahead and did it. It's good for her and for us! September also started the baby season. I had 4 friends pregnant with me and the babies started in September. By October I was over being pregnant (really probably long before that) and was ready to have our baby boy. November 4, a day I'll NEVER forget we got to meet our precious baby boy. He was everything we could ever hope for and then some. He too has forever changed our lives. God has blessed us with 2 happy, healthy children and we are so thankful for that. The holidays were lots of fun even though I was sick on Christmas day and now here we are on New Years Eve all thinking about what the last year was like for us and what the next year holds for us. I'm not good at making New Years resolutions, I always say something and then may or may not do it. So this year I'm not really making one. I know this might sound so cliche but I honestly just want to try and be a better mother, wife and friend. I don't think I'm too shabby at any of them but no one is perfect and there is always room for improvement so that's my goal! (And of course lose the rest of this baby weight as soon as possible!!) I hope that 2010 is as good to me as 2009 was and I hope 2010 is good to all of you.

I'm wishing you all the Happiest New Years you can have!! Be safe and have fun! Talk to you next year!

Our Christmas Recap...

There isn't much to recap as far as our festivities. I woke up Christmas morning and felt good other then having the same head cold Emma had but then right after 8 that morning I started feeling nauseous. Next thing I knew it was coming out both ends (sorry), I was running a fever that wouldn't ever come down and I spent the day in the bed. Very depressing. Luckily I got to enjoy about an hour and a half with Emma before it all hit. Here are the pictures we have from Christmas morning and the rest of Christmas.

Just got back from seeing Santa.

Cookies for Santa...we tried to get a picture of her smiling but she wasn't having it. It was really late when we got home and she fell asleep in the car.

The Christmas tree before Emma saw it.

She went straight to the stroller. Her Christmas list this year was a new stroller, clothes for her and her babies and puzzles.

Checking it out...

Opening a present from mommy and daddy!

A bathtub for her babies from Santa

Her very own Pluto she can walk, she loves it.

Those are all the pictures I got. My mom thankfully got some more and some of Brooks. When I get them I'll include those as well.

Here is a picture of Brooks smiling away at Emma!! Anytime she comes up and starts talking to him he watches her every move. We love him so much. Can't remember life without him now.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and I hope your families were well!

Happy New Year!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

I'm a bit behind on posting everything that has been going on. I tend to hit the highlights and that's it. So I'm going to try and catch up on the in between stuff. A couple of weeks ago me, Emma and Brooks went to have lunch with Shannon, Harper and Henley. After lunch they came back over to play. Here is the best picture I could get of Emma and Harper.

Here is Brooks enjoying his playmat. We've had it out for a couple of weeks and he seems to really like it. Emma LOVED it so we figured he would too.

Here he is trying out the tummy mat. We've had it out for about a week or so and he's not so sure about it.

Enough pictures mommy!!

Here is a picture we took during bath, he was sucking his thumb!

This is the shirt I made for Emma for her Christmas Program at school. I'll have to post pictures of it later they are on my smaller camera.

Here is Brooks on his mat again. We started him out in between the red mirror hanging down and the pelican but as you can see he wiggled over towards the pelican and was grabbing it. It was too cute. They seriously change over night it's so surreal. It's already flying by way too fast.

Here he is trying to grab it.

Me and Emma made reindeer for her Christmas party Wednesday night and she was such a good helper. She wouldn't let me take a picture of her actually helping so I got one of them when they were done.

Emma waiting to go to her Christmas party. I got to go to the party this time (I missed the Halloween one because it was my last day of work before having Brooks) and I'm so glad. Hopefully I won't miss anymore.

Brooks and his crazy hair. I love it and have quit brushing it because I like the messy look better.

Emma and Brooks

I guess I'll stop there with random pictures of my sweet precious babies. Emma is sick and has been since Friday night and has just gotten worse so we're off to the doctor later. I'm ready to shoot the parents of the kids that came to school last week sick. Anyway, I hope you are all having a great Monday!

Weekend Recap...lots of pictures!!

What a weekend we had!! We NEVER have anything to do...I would consider us pretty boring but this weekend we had plans 2 nights in a row. Yes that was 2 nights in a row and I left Emma and Brooks both nights. If you know me, you know this was BIG!! But we had a blast and it was so much fun. Friday night was our Girls Night Out Christmas Party at Amber's and we had so much fun. The husbands were included and they ALWAYS make the night that much more interesting. It was so fun to get to see everyone (I missed last month) and be able to have a few drinks after 9 months!! Here are just a few pictures I took.

Me and Lindy

Melissa & Zach

Matt (not sure what he's doing here but it's still pretty funny)

Blake sporting the black hat!

I had to include this picture because it's the only one of Amy I got!! For those of you that don't know she had a baby 3 weeks ago and so I was so glad she came!!

Here is Ashley doing her shot of Mad Dog!! Fun times, fun times!!

Me and Mycalee

Me and Shannon

This is all the pictures I got from GNO, hopefully we got some good group shots.

Saturday night was one of my best friends surprise 30th birthday party. I didn't really get any pictures. This is me and the birthday girl, Shannon! I think she was surprised and had a great time!

We had a GREAT weekend full of fun times with friends!! We couldn't have had a better weekend. I hope you all had a great weekend too!

Brooks is 1 Month Old!

Has it really been a month already? I can't believe it. I'm happy and sad all at the same time. I think life is going by way too fast. We are all adjusting well and he's such a good baby. When I found out it was a boy I was happy but I'm not going to lie I was worried. I didn't know if I'd know what to do with a boy. Well from the moment I laid eyes on him I couldn't imagine him not being here or not being part of our family. I can not thank God enough for blessing us with a sweet baby girl and a sweet baby boy. The fact that he chose us to be Emma and Brooks parents is just so surreal, they are our life! Brooks is such a sweet baby. Emma was a really good baby as well but Brooks has her beat (which we are very thankful for), he's just so good. Here are some pictures of our sweet baby boy.

Hey everyone!

I love my big sister!

And she loves me!

We love you so much Brooks, you truly complete our family!

We love you,
Daddy, Mommy and Big Sister Emma!

Weekend Recap...

I hope you all had a great weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving. We sure did. We did Thanksgiving dinner Thursday night. Then Friday morning me and my mom went shopping (not super early like all the other people though) then came home and watched Auburn lose a game they shouldn't have lost. Saturday, we had Luke's birthday party at Pump It Up and Emma actually thoroughly enjoyed it this time. I left Ben at home with Brooks and went and it was a lot of fun. Probably not exactly what the doctor had in mine for someone 3 1/2 weeks out of having a baby but fun none the less, lol! Sunday we did all of our regular chores and then Ben's dad came to visit. Here are some pictures of my sweet babies on Thanksgiving.

Happy Monday!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for this year, a roof over our head, a happy marriage, 2 healthy amazing kids, great family and of course the best friends we could ask for.

Here are some pictures of our precious babies!!

This is Emma's Thanksgiving outfit I made for her, she wore it to school Tuesday.

Brooks has a matching onesie I will post a picture of him in his later.

Our little ham!! Excuse her hair, but when she's willing to give us a good smile we start clicking away!

Brooks is just so cuddly right now like all new babies. I could just eat him up!

Hey everyone!

That's all I have time for right now but I'll post more later.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Just a random update...

I want to start with saying Congratulations to Amy and Mark. They just had their sweet baby girl. They decided to drive us all crazy and leave us all wondering by not finding out the sex. But that's ok it was fun guessing for almost 9 months. Amy delivered sweet baby Braegan yesterday afternoon via c-section. She weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 19 inches long. It's probably a good thing she was 3 weeks early! I don't have a picture to post even though I've been there twice already to see them with a camera both times, but you can link to their blog above and see the sweet baby girl.

In other news, I took Brooks for a 2 week checkup today. He's up to 8 lbs 15 oz and 21 inches long. So in 2 weeks since his birth he's gained 9 oz and grown an inch. We are very thankful he's healthy and happy. Here are just a few pictures of my sweet babies!!

Hope your all having a great week!
