34 Weeks

Today I am 34 weeks, the whole pregnancy has flown by but I truly feel like the last few weeks are moving at warp speed. After doing the nursery I just stopped all together and haven't done anything else. I keep thinking I have till Nov 4th to get it all done but in all actuality he could come before that (do I think so, probably not but you never know). So I think that "official" nesting mode is kicking in and I have a feeling this weekend I'll be doing a lot of stuff to get ready for him. Don't get me wrong I've been nesting for several weeks now but not on things regarding him. :) But I've gotten a LOT done at my house because of it all. Here is my belly picture for this week.

Monday night we had dance again, and this time it didn't go quite so well. Emma was so excited about it as she normally is when I got home Monday but when we got there she started crying (this is normal) but I gave her to the teacher anyway and she quit pretty quick. About 1/2 way through they came out with her and said she needed to go potty. I took her potty and then she started crying again saying she didn't want to go back in. So we left and did what we knew would cheer her up and got ice cream. That made her world a lot better! She said she had fun at dance and wanted to go back so we'll see. She's done so well and when they brought her out they said she was really getting into it but for whatever reason she did not want to go back in. If she doesn't want to go back Monday or we do go back and she doesn't have a good time we're just going to wait till next year and try again. I thought she might be a little young but wanted to try it in case she enjoyed it.

Yesterday at school she had a GREAT DAY!! I was so glad to hear that after last week when her teacher was out. Let's just say it was anything but a great day. Her personality is changing and growing so much and I think it's just due to her being in school 2 days a week. She really loves it and for that it makes me happy!

I don't have any pictures of Emma to share today but I do have 2 pictures of things I made this weekend. I forgot to share Emma's Auburn shirt I did a while ago so hopefully I can get a picture of it to post. This is one I did for my mom.

I also did a Halloween shirt for her as well but my camera died and I didn't get a picture of it. I'm making Emma the same thing so I'll just take a picture of it to share when I do it. Here is a pair of jeans I added a ruffle too. They are so cute and what's better is I got them for $3 at Kids Market. You can't beat that.

They match this shirt I posted before and her Auburn shirt I made her that I talked about earlier.

Now I'll attempt to make a bow to go with that pumpkin shirt and jeans (for this weekend for the pumpkin patch). I made some bows a while ago but never quite mastered it. I'm hoping to figure it out now though for sure.

Hope your all having a great week. We've been so busy at work I'm slap worn out by the end of the day. We just recently moved and we're still getting unpacked and settled. I did so much Monday and Tuesday I physically hurt by the end of the day! I'm hoping today and tomorrow is much better.

Happy Wednesday!

Emma is SO AMAZING!!

This conversation happened Thursday night and Friday night and I just have to share. Ben was on the screened in porch and Emma walked out with him. Let me preface this with saying she is fascinated with the moon. So here is how the conversation went:

Emma: I see the moon, it's broken

Ben: It sure is honey

Emma: Where is the other piece? (with both hands flipped out asking where, it was so cute)

Ben: It's up there just behind the clouds

Emma: ok

That was Thursday night and she quickly went back to playing.

Friday night while I was gone, she walked back out with him.

Emma: I see the moon, it's broken.

Ben: It sure is.

Emma: You find it.

Emma goes back inside and comes back out with some glue and looks at him and says:

You glue it back together!

How priceless is that! Her knowledge, imagination and innocence is just so TRULY AMAZING to me. I just look at her and think, she's my little girl...ALL MINE and I just love her so much!!

Friday, I had my checkup with my doctor. Brooks' heartbeat sounded great and she said I measured perfect. I was in and out really fast which I like. I go back on the 9th and they will start checking me to see if I'm making any progress on my own. I sure hope I am! It sure is flying by!

I hope you all had a great weekend, we sure did. Friday night was our monthly GNO. We didn't have everyone there and we missed the ones that were absent, Lindy and Mycalee. Hopefully we'll all be back together again in October. Saturday we were going to watch Lucy cheer but the weather was less then desirable so we didn't. But because of that we got a lot of chores done. I didn't think to take a before picture of our dining room but we painted it and it looks so good and so much bigger. I absolutely love it.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll have pictures to share from things I've made this weekend and of Emma.

Happy Monday!

This has been a long week...

Yesterday after work I went back to see Blake, Shannon, Harper and Henley. This time I left Ben and Emma at home. Shannon looked great just as she always does and I got to see Henley's eyes open for just a brief second and they were so pretty just like she is. Better yet though I was there for a while with just them before other visitors started coming in so I got to hold her and cuddle her for a while and I was loving every minute of it. Harper would come up and ask me to see sissy and then give her a kiss. It was so sweet. Made me wonder how Emma will be with Brooks. The new family of 4 should be going home this morning to adjust to life with a toddler and a newborn. I'm quite sure Shannon can teach me a few things in the next 6 weeks before Brooks gets here! Oh and I left my camera in the car, went back to get it but still didn't remember to actually get it out and take pictures!

While I was there I also went to see my friend Amy. No she did not have her baby yet, thankfully, but she had taken a tumble at work and so they had her come in for monitoring. I know ALL too well how scary that is, because I fell flat on my belly at 36 weeks pregnant with Emma and had to go in. Thankfully she is ok and was released after a couple hours of monitoring. It was definitely an eventful afternoon. I go back to the doctor tomorrow so I'll post an update on that tomorrow when I can. In the meantime, I hope you all have a great day!! The Greek Festival downtown starts today so we're all going over from work and I can't wait! It's lots of fun.

I almost forgot to include this picture...

I just think it's so sweet! :) It was on my phone so quality might not be that good!

33 Weeks...

Here is this weeks belly shot.

Last night we went to see Shannon, Blake, Harper and the new arrival Miss Henley. I took my camera but of course was too busy chatting, playing with Harper and holding Henley to take pictures. Here is a picture Tiffany, her sister sent me shortly after she was born.

There are a few more pictures on both Shannon and Tiffany's blog, so check them out. They are all doing well and Henley is just precious! Emma was only interested in her for a minute then had no interest at all. Maybe she'll be a little more interested when Brooks gets here, we'll see! Shannon looked great as she always does and is doing well. I'm going back this afternoon so maybe I can actually remember to take a few pictures.

I hope you all have a great day, thank goodness it's Wednesday! I thought all day yesterday it was Wednesday.

Today's a BIG day...

Today one of my very best friends is having her 2nd baby girl! Shannon is at the hospital now as we speak and I'm sitting here anxiously awaiting a call saying she's here or progressing even. I hope she comes quickly and I hope there is as little pain as there can be for Shannon. Once I get to see Miss Henley I'll have pictures to share. Say a prayer for everything to go smooth and both Shannon and Henley to be perfect during it all.

This weekend was a busy weekend, I went to Kids Market Saturday for the contributor sale and racked up on some good stuff for Emma and Brooks. I left with a LOT of stuff and could have bought a lot more. I think I went through my stack 3 times trying to condense it and then only left with half of what I picked up. It was definitely worth the time I spent there. It opened to the public yesterday and runs for 2 weeks so if your in Birmingham you should definitely check it out.

Also this weekend I was working on stuff for Emma and Brooks. Here are just a few of things I managed to get done.

Emma's isn't done, she will have hot pink pants with the zebra ruffle and a cute zebra bow, I just haven't gotten that far.

We went to eat at the Antique Mall Sunday. For everyone in the area you know what I'm talking about. For those of you not, it's a nursing home turned antique mall with a cafe in it. For the longest time I have to admit I've turned my nose up at it, I guess it was the fact that it was a nursing home before, but after going on Sunday I could kick myself for not going before. It was EXCELLENT. We will definitely be going back! If you haven't tried it you should.

Last night was our 2nd dance class and Emma did really good. She walked in and sat down with the other girls and we made the mistake of staying too long and then she wanted us and cried a little but the teacher said as soon as they started singing she stopped and joined in. She also told us that she actually was trying some of the hands and feet moves they were doing last night so she thinks it's a matter of time before she'll fully come out of her shell. So we'll be back next week to try it again. They have been so nice and have not made us pay anything yet, she said to give it a few more lessons and we'd see how she was doing. Emma came out of the class with a huge grin on her face and ran straight to us. She said she had fun, told her teacher bye and we left. When we got in the car we asked if she wanted to go back next week and she said she wanted to go back tomorrow (talking about today) and we laughed. We think she likes it! Time will tell!

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Happy Tuesday!!

32 weeks

This is definitely not my best picture. But I was in a hurry and didn't have time for a re-do! I'm 32 weeks today so 7 weeks (since they are supposed to induce) from today I should meet Brooks'. It's wild to think we're so close yet it does seem so far away too!

A lot to catch up on...

First, a congratulations to Lindy from our GNO group. She had her precious baby boy Friday. Wyatt was 8 lbs 7 oz and 20 3/4 inches long (I think I have this right) and was so cute. Me, Amber and Mycalee went to visit them Saturday morning. She looked great and he was as cute as can be. I didn't have my camera so I have this picture Amber took of me holding Wyatt.

Here is the onesie I made Saturday morning to take up to her. Thanks Shannon for the suggestion! :)

Speaking of Shannon, I made her this ABC picture for her nursery. I was able to give it to her Friday.

Henley is the next baby we are waiting on and she should be here any day now! She's snug though right now in Shannon's belly and who can blame her! I can't wait to meet her though!

Saturday night we had a couples shower to go to for some friends of ours. We came home and watched the end of the Auburn game, WAR EAGLE, and then I went down stairs to make this shirt.

I promise I won't show everything I make, I'm just still learning everything and so I'm so proud when I do something and I don't screw it up I have to share! Thanks to Shannon for helping me SO MUCH!

Sunday was a pretty low key day! I just did weekly chores and that's about it.

Last night Emma started dance. It went good, better then I thought it would. The teacher said she'd let us know at the end if it was a waste of our time and money and when they got through she said she didn't think it was and to come back next week. We don't get to watch anything but we're outside the door in what they call the mommy room (which Ben just loved). She was so excited on the way but after our parent information was given and we were sent out she wasn't too happy. She quit crying right after we left and did what they told her too. She said she had fun when she got through and said she wanted to go back so we'll go back next Monday to see what she thinks. I tried to get a picture of her but she wasn't having it. Maybe I can next week.

Happy Tuesday to you all! I woke up thinking it was Wednesday, what a bummer! :)

It felt like Christmas...

Today my diaper bag came in and I went to pick it up after work. I was able to get it from a friend of a friend for half off and I absolutely love it. Here is a picture of it.

I ordered a smaller version in a different print of the diaper bag above but it is backordered. Maybe I can post a picture of it when it comes in.

I ordered this pacifier holder that attaches to the diaper bag or stroller or anything else you might want. I thought it was pretty cool.

I also ordered 2 plain outfits for Brooks but don't have a picture of those to share. I'm actually going to be putting something on them so maybe when I do that I can remember and post them then!

When I got home my new car seat cover came in for him. I was so excited. I had forgotten all about it even though I just ordered it. Here is a picture of it. We put it on when Ben got home and Emma immediately knew it was for Brooks. She said that's for Baby Brooks and I said yes your right. Definitely spruced up my simi-girly carseat so I'm very happy with it. I found it on Ebay finally after searching high and low for quite some time for it. I fell in love with it instantly months ago but it was pricey. Thanks to Ebay I got it half off as well. What a great day! :)

Hope you all have a good weekend! Take a minute to stop and think about all the people who died on September 11th and say a prayer for their families.

Weekend Recap

I finally remembered to get Ben to put the pictures on the camera on my little chip. I can now post about this past weekend. Saturday night we went to watch the game with Blake and Shannon. I tried to get a picture of Emma before we left in her only AU attire (I know sad, but hopefully that will change soon) but she wanted Papa Bear in the picture with her so you can't see much. She did look cute though.

I took my camera with me that night but didn't get any pictures so I got this one from Shannon's blog. This is Harper and Emma eating one last brownie and drinking some milk. They were so cute!

Sunday we headed to the lake and Amy, Mark, Amber, Jarred and Jacob came up for the day. We had a great time and grilled out. Emma and Jacob had a lot of fun.

Here is Amy, Amber, Jacob and myself. It's the only picture I got of all of us looking at the camera.

She's so cute I could eat her up!

Here is Emma and Jacob playing in the rocks, this definitely kept them entertained for a long time!

This is from last summer at the lake, look how much they've grown!

They are getting ready to feed the ducks. It looks like Emma's trying to tell Jacob it's ok, come on!

This is Jacob running from us. It looks like he's running from Oliver but he's really not. We gave them both a bun (which were fresh, thank goodness) because we were out of all the old bread we use and Jacob decided he was hungry and didn't want to share his bun with the ducks. It was the funniest, cutest thing I've ever seen. I was crying I was laughing so hard. He ran all over the yard trying to get away from us!

All done feeding the ducks!

These last few I got from Amber's blog. They are too cute. Emma's apparently a very lovable kid because everyone wants to hug her and I can't blame them. I'd hug her and kiss her all day long if she'd let me.

Great recipe...

So this recipe was in our community newspaper and I decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. It is awesome. I thought I'd share just in case any of you were interested in trying it.

Broccoli & Chicken Noodle Soup

cooking spray
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup presliced mushroom (I didn't use these)
1 garlic clove minced
3 tablespoons butter (I used 1/2 of this)
1/4 cup all purpose flour
4 cups 1% low fat milk
1 can chicken broth
4 ounces vermicelli (really any noodles are fine)
2 cups shredded light cheese (I used velveeta light as that's what was suggested)
4 cups cubed cooked chicken breast
3 cups broccoli florets
1 cup half and half (I used fat free)
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Saute onion, mushrooms and garlic for 5 minutes or until liquid evaporates, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium, add butter to mixture, stirring until butter melts. Sprinkle with flour, cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Gradually add milk and broth, stirring constantly with a whisk; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 10 minutes or until slightly thick, stirring constantly. Add pasta to pan, cook 10 minutes. Add cheese and stir till cheese melts. Add chicken and remaining ingredients and cook 5 minutes or until broccoli is tender and soup is thoroughly heated. Then serve and enjoy!

Doctor's Appointment Update

I went today for my checkup and a 2nd 4D ultrasound. Brooks was cooperating a little more but like his big sister still had his hand on his face the entire time. It's ok though we got great pictures last time and this time. My actual appointment with my doctor was quite uneventful. I guess because we did the ultrasound and saw everything she didn't feel the need to listen to the heartbeat or measure me, which is fine but she was running super behind and I was on my lunch break so I was a little frustrated with it all. We discussed the flu shot, my office doesn't have it yet. Hopefully they will have it when I go back in 3 weeks, if not I'll get it when our work does them the first of October. And then MOST importantly we talked about when she would induce. As of right now, obviously it could change, Mr. Brooks' arrival will be on November 4 if all goes as planned. So just 2 months from tomorrow (Friday) or 8 weeks and 6 days (I'm not counting down or anything, can't you tell?) we'll get to meet him. How exciting, overwhelming and fun that will be!! It sure is flying by!!!

As for our weekend plans, we'll go to the lake and either watch and/or listen to our Auburn Tigers (WAR EAGLE) play. Sounds like a good weekend to me! Hope you all have a great long weekend!

Pictures of Brooks' Room

So here are the finished pictures of his room. It is not completely finished but getting very close so I thought I'd share what I had. This is what you see when you walk in the door.

This is on the left hand wall. I painted the ABC picture above the chest. I did the one in Emma's room as well so I wanted him to have one too. There is actually a giraffe on the top of the chest now that I got at my tea on Sunday and his new humidifier I got as well but I took these before that. So it doesn't look quite so bare anymore. Hopefully I can come up with something to put on the wall above the chair. I have a few ideas. It does look bare to me there though!

This is a sign I'd seen in a baby boutique here in town but decided we could do it ourselves. I was going to do it but wanted a short break from painting so Ben was kind enough to do it for me. It's above his closet door.

His dresser, I actually have a changing pad cover for it now and a picture in the ultrasound frame that's sitting on top.

His bed with a partial view of the bedding.

His bed with the the front of his bedding. The inside is different then the outside. I just love it!

Hope you like it as much as we do!

P.S. I did a 2nd post yesterday about some friends who are now expecting and a link to another post. If you haven't read it, the post that I linked too, make sure you do. It's super sweet!

Happy Thursday!

I just had to post this...

I know this is my 2nd post of the day but I just had to post this. Shannon's sister, Tiffany, finally posted her great news that she's expecting her first baby. In it, she linked to this post from another blog and it is so true and written so well I just had to share for those of you who do not read Tiff's blog! I hope you all read it!

Congratulations Tiffany on your journey to Motherhood!

I also had another friend announce her pregnancy today. Andrea, I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear all about your journey as well.

It's definitely the MOST AMAZING ride of your life and I'm only 2 years (3 years really because it begins with a positive pregnancy test) into it and getting ready to do it all over again. Congratulations to you both!

Morgan

30 Weeks

Here is my belly shot for this week. I go to the doctor tomorrow so I should have an update after that. We are also getting to do another 4-D ultrasound because Brooks had his hand across his face the entire time. After it I'll try and scan some pictures to post.

People have asked me if I feel like I'm carrying him different then I did with Emma or if I've been sick more or anything like that. Until this point I would say no I can't really tell a difference. But in the last few weeks I'd have to say I feel like he's much lower then Emma. I know the old wives tale says carry low boy, carry high a girl but until recently I truly couldn't tell a difference. I just remember with Emma feeling like she couldn't be any higher and when I see pictures of me now I'm like he almost looks like he could fall out! LOL!

Here is a picture of Emma posing with Brooks' giraffe. She's so cute, I just love her so much!

Monday night Shannon came over to help me and Amy learn how to monogram on shirts and applique. She is extremely talented and has been willing to show me/us what to do for a while now. I've just FINALLY gotten motivated. I've had my sewing/embroidery machine for 5 years now and just done basic sewing/monogramming. Here is what I was able to learn. The hat she did and we watched so we could see how to do it. But she used my machine so I was able to fully understand everything which helped a LOT. I'm a more visual person on things like this.

Here is the shirt that she started and let me take over so I'd know what to do. Of course I learned plenty, first being, don't take your eyes off of it. I looked up for 2 seconds and it started pulling the shirt. Shannon came to the rescue and was able to show me how to fix it and I was able to go on! Thank goodness! :)

And here is the onesie I did start to finish with Shannon making sure I was doing everything right. It was a little bit more tedious then I thought but well worth the satisfaction when it's done. The fabric used on this is what I'm using to make Emma some ruffle pants and a shirt with an E on it to match him. I'll make him some little matching pants as well I'm sure.

And here is a bib I did last night by myself. It was much easier then a onesie or a shirt and I was going to do a shirt too. But I figured I needed to attempt something easy to make sure I remembered all the steps. Tonight hopefully I'll do something harder! This will go with his onesie. There is actually yellow in the fabric (which is why I chose the yellow bib) however none of the yellow made it on the B. I still think it's cute.

I hope you like them as much as I do! If you haven't seen all the stuff that Shannon does make sure you check out her blog. She sells a lot and it's all so very cute so make sure you check it out. All you have to do is send her a comment and she can show you all she does. Thank you so much Shannon for your help! We'll definitely need it again if your willing to help us!

**Thank you all for the comments about Emma's room!

Happy Wednesday, we're halfway to the end of the week and we have a long weekend. It can't get any better then that! :)
