Our first tooth...

About a week ago Brooks had been grabbing at his ears and it had been on going for a while. I wasn't sure if he was actually teething or had an ear infection so I took him to the doctor after talking to our nurse. Sure enough he was cutting a tooth. I was glad that was all it was! I haven't been able to get a picture of him with his mouth open yet though. It's just now broken the skin though where you can barely see it so maybe when it's all the way through we'll be able to get a picture. We've had a fairly busy summer already, enjoying every minute of it. Here are some pictures that I've gotten lately of Emma and Brooks on my phone.

This weekend we went the lake for the day on Saturday and Emma decided she wanted to ride on the jet ski. This is her first time to ride and she did so good. I told Ben to go real slow and he did and she quickly told him to go faster. She'll be a natural before summer's over.

Sorry the pictures are so small. I've got to empty our card for our big camera and then I can use it again. Hope your all doing good and enjoying your summer as well.

One last post on Emma's birthday...

I meant to post this before now but we gave her, her big birthday present Thursday night. Friday was her actual birthday but my mom and his went in with us to get it and so we did it when everyone could be here. She LOVES it...and it makes me wish I could fit in it!

Her face is priceless!!

You know she had to take Mary Kate with her. The girl has an animal with her at all times.

Look out here I come!! Thank goodness we have 13 more years before she'll be driving on the real roads. :)

I would have to say she had a great birthday. It started the Friday before and went through the week to this past weekend! It can't get much better then that. We did exactly what she wanted all day which was to play with her car, go get lunch and have a picnic and then that night we went to play. Isn't it fun in the life of a 3 year old??

Hope your all having a great week!

My Sweet Emma Bean

Our lives changed forever 3 years ago today at 12:55 p.m. We were blessed with the most precious baby girl anyone could ever ask for. The last 3 years have gone by way to fast and I wish they would slow down.

Emma, we love you more then life itself and can't remember what life was like before you came along. I love your outgoing personality that you get from your daddy. I love the way you look just like I did when I was a little girl. I find myself staring at you when your playing and don't even realize it thinking how surreal it all is and how much I feel like I'm looking at old pictures of myself. I love your hands that look just like mine, along with your brown eyes. I love your lips because they are just like daddy's (although he swears they are just like mine). I love how spunky you are, how you know to be leary of strangers, how you want to be a baby again sometimes like your brother but then 5 minutes later you want to wear makeup, wear mommies clothes and paint your toenails. I love watching how much you've changed in the last year and how much you are coming out of your shell. I didn't want you to go to Mother's Day Out but I knew you needed too. I wanted to keep you in a bubble forever...and still do but know that's not possible! :) I can't even begin to wrap my mind around what I'll be saying 10 years from now. I hope you never have to go through pain, have your feelings hurt or have your heart broken. I hope you never forget or have to wonder how much you are truly loved and how much you mean to all of us. We love you so much Emma and while I don't want you to grow up too fast I know we'll enjoy every minute of watching you grow up. I love you all the way to the moon and back 10,000 times over! Or as you would say I love you little and big! Happy Birthday sweet baby girl!!!

We had Emma's 3rd birthday party last weekend. We decided not to do it at home and the place we were having it at was booked for this weekend. Her birthday is tomorrow. This was the best birthday we've had. She was really into it this year(except when we sang her happy birthday) and had a blast. Here are some pictures from the party.

Brooks is 7 Months Today...

I can not believe your already 7 months old. It hit me today about lunch time what the date was and I got sad. I know crazy huh? I was sad because you are not a little bitty baby anymore, your growing and changing every single day and it's all going WAY TOO FAST. I wish I could keep you and your sister little forever! :) (You wouldn't sit down in your bed for pictures at all so we just let you stand) Here is what your up to these days.

You eat random amounts at random times these days it seems. We offer you 6 oz in the morning about 5:30 and you normally take it all. You eat almost a jar of baby food for breakfast. Between 9:00 and 10:30 you get another bottle. This one we normally only make about 4 oz because you do good to take it. You eat a jar of baby food at lunch (1/2 veggie, 1/2 fruit) and then you get another bottle between 1:00 and 2:00. At this one you normally eat between 5 and 6 oz. You take another bottle between 4:00and 5:00 in the afternoon and it varies as to how much you take then. You a eat a jar of baby food at night (1/2 veggie, 1/2 fruit) and then we give you 6 oz before bed with cereal in it and you normally take it all.

You go to bed between 8:00 and 9:00 and get up about 5:30, however lately you have been waking up at least once in the middle of the night. I think your teething and that's the problem. Emma woke up in the middle of the night for a month straight and finally cut her first tooth so I'm beginning to wonder if your going to follow in her footsteps.

You are saying da da and lots of other sounds all the time. Your trying to learn to wave. Maybe by next month we can master it. You blow bubbles all the time and make clicking noises all the time. You absolutely LOVE the Itsy Bitsy Spider and you giggle and laugh every time we sing it to you. It makes me smile every time.

You are still scooting and trying to crawl some. Your poor knees are so sensitive and you've learned to move with one knee up (like your crawling) and 1 foot down like your fixing to stand up. It's too cute.

You are pulling up and trying to pull up on EVERY SINGLE THING you can. I can't believe it either. You love bath time, you love to cuddle, you love your sissy, and you love to play. You are definitely a mommy's boy and I love every minute of it.

We can't imagine life without you in and absolutely love you more then you'll ever know. You and Emma both bring us so much joy...I could cry just thinking about it! I love you sweet baby boy!!

6 Month Pictures

I've been a little MIA lately on the blog. I'm going to try and get better about blogging. Life has just kind of taken over. I wanted to post this before I forget exactly when it happened!

When we went to Brooks' 6 month check up, the doctor said when we came back at 9 months that Brooks could be pulling up and if he had a tooth we would talk about solid foods then. I left thinking there is no way he'll be pulling up by then. Not because I didn't think he could but because it was going by way too fast. Well little did I know that Brooks was going to be pulling up in about a week and a half after that appointment. Yes you heard me correctly...at about 6 1/2 months old he was pulling up. I couldn't believe my eyes. Since his first time to pull up he's gotten really good at it. Friday when I went to get him from his nap he was standing in his bed. Monday when Ben got home from getting groceries with Emma, Emma had gotten an icee and set it on the coffee table. As soon as she was away from it he spotted it and scooted/crawled over to the table and pulled himself up to try and get it. He was so proud of himself. He doesn't have crawling down yet but he's ready to move on to bigger things. I have some pictures of him standing, I'll post those tomorrow. He's definitely beating his sister in this department!

Back to the title of the post, we decided we'd attempt to take his 6 month pictures ourself. We weren't just overly excited about who did his first pictures or his 3 month pictures (although we got great pictures both times) and so we thought we'd give it a whirl. For Mother's Day we decided to frame some of these and give them to my mom and his. Here are just a few of the couple hundred we shot.

I think we'll do his 9 month pictures ourself as well. We did a frame of 3 pictures of them together for Mother's Day and then a 5 x 7 of each of them and they turned out awesome. I was also able to do an 8 x 10 of the first 2, 1 for my bedroom and 1 for the wall of his first year and we're very pleased!

Happy Tuesday to you all!
