Just a few pictures from the weekend!

Here is Emma playing with her new best friend Ella. She LOVES Ella!

And here is the only picture I got (that turned out) of Emma and Harper when she came to visit. Harper and her were best buddies before they even knew it! I wish I had gotten a better picture. This is really cute though because they are hugging, such sweet girls!

Hope you all have a great day!

It's a ...

BOY!!!!!

I think just about everyone got it wrong this time. I'm sorry for the delay in posting but of course once I got back to work and was talking to everyone here the day got away from me. Then Friday morning I went for my appointment and then headed to the lake for the weekend! The ultrasound at Virginia College was great. I HIGHLY recommend anyone that is pregnant go! They did an ultrasound on me for over an hour. Boy, is our little boy an active little fellow!! We seriously thought we'd walk in, they'd do a short ultrasound and say boy or girl and call it a day but that wasn't the case. It is literally a class for the student. They have to check all major organs, print pictures for their instructor, etc. The girl we had was so nice, she'll be finished in December but they don't graduate till March! She FINALLY got to the BIG question and she said well what do yall think and me and Ben both said boy, she said that's my guess and printed him a picture. She said if I'm right you can keep that picture. The instructor comes in and goes over everything as well and gets to the BIG question again and said the same thing, what do yall think? We said BOY! She said yes that is right. Of course me being paranoid said and we're sure that's not the umbilical cord (a friend of mine was told at her doctor's office not Virginia College, she was having a boy and had a girl) and she said I'm positive. So we are beyond excited. Of course it would have been a lot easier had we had a girl but this is going to be fun!

Friday I had my regular checkup with my doctor. Baby M's heartrate was 150. I told her about the ultrasound and showed her the picture. She said well it is kind of early but that definitely looks like a penis to me! Of course when I go back on June 18 we'll have another ultrasound to confirm. I hope you all had a great long weekend. I'll post pictures from our weekend tomorrow. I didn't have time to get them off the camera this morning!

Happy Tuesday!

Thursday could be the BIG day...

So tomorrow I'm going to Virginia College to see if Baby M is willing to cooperate and let us know if we are having a boy or a girl. I tried to do this with Emma, however they were out for Christmas break so no such luck. For those of you who don't know about Virginia College you can go starting at 15 weeks with your doctors approval and get free ultrasounds. I have known some people to do this and they were all successful at finding out early. So we will see. With Emma when we couldn't go there we decided to ask for a gender only ultrasound at 16 weeks from our doctor. She agreed and we attempted it but Emma had her legs crossed Indian style so we had no such luck. It was still a pleasure seeing her however we were bummed, we wanted to announce it on Christmas day to our parents. She apparently had other plans for us! :) So with her not cooperating I'm not getting my hopes up too high that we will know tomorrow but we potentially could. I've told Baby M several times to cooperate with Mommy and Daddy tomorrow. We'll see if Baby M is listening or not. I am still excited though to go and see for a 3rd time our precious baby. I will let you know how it goes. My appointment is at 11:30 tomorrow. Oh and if you haven't guessed yet and want too please feel free to make a guess and we'll see who is right. Happy Wednesday, the week is almost over and we have an extra long weekend! YAY!

Great Recipe

I forgot to include in my post yesterday that I tried a recipe I found on Big Mama's site. It is called Blackened Chicken Pizza (Paula Deen), it was posted on May 12th. I made it Sunday night, it was WONDERFUL!! I highly recommend this recipe. It does call for white wine and suggests you drink it while you make it. Since I'm pregnant I didn't want to buy wine to waste. That's a sin isn't it? Ben truly enjoyed it as well. Here is the recipe which I just copied and pasted from her site. If you want pictures as well then go to her site and she'll take you step by step. If you don't read her blog already you should. She's ABSOLUTELY hilarious. I laugh most everyday reading it. If only I were as funny as she was...Enjoy!

Blackened Chicken Pizza (Paula Deen)

3 teaspoons blackening seasoning, divided (found on the spices aisle)
1 boneless, skinless chicken breast, pounded to 1/4 in. thickness
4 tbs. butter, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 shallot, minced
2 tbs. all purpose flour
1/4 cup white wine
3/4 cup milk
2 tbs. chopped fresh basil
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup fresh spinach leaves
8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
Pizza crust

Sprinkle 2 teaspoons blackening seasoning evenly over chicken breast. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. Add chicken, and cook for 2to 3 minutes per side or until done. Remove from heat, cool and cut chicken into bite-size pieces.

In large skillet, melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Add garlic and shallot, and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in flour, cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in wine and milk.

Continue to whisk the mixture constantly for 4-5 minutes or until thickened. Stir in basil and remaining 1 teaspoon blackening seasoning. Remove from heat.

Preheat oven to 450.

Spread cream mixture evenly over prepared, unbaked crust.

Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella cheese.

Top evenly with spinach, chicken pieces, and bacon.

Sprinkle another 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese over the top.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.

If you make it let me know what you think. We'll definitely be making this again!

Happy Monday

So we had a busy weekend to say the least and Emma did great with her potty training. We have had no accidents in over a week and we are COMPLETELY potty trained now. I say it like me and Ben just learned too but for any parent out there potty training or having potty trained before, you understand it's a family affair and your so excited when they "get" it. We are thrilled. I'm sure there will be an accident here or there but all is going good. I thought I'd post a few pictures that I have from the photo session we had a few weeks ago. I'm still waiting to get the rest so when I do I'll post those too.

Hope you have a great Monday!

Bye Bye Diapers...

Dear Pampers,

Thank you for being so good to me and my Big Girl for almost 2 years. However, today I am writing to you tell you we won't be needing your service anymore. I am proud to say my 23 month old is potty training and succeeding very well. I am so PROUD of her!! Don't worry you'll be getting our money soon enough when our 2nd baby comes in November. Until then we are truly enjoying diaper free days!

Breaking free,
Ben, Morgan and Emma

As you you can tell we are happy to say that Emma is in the middle of potty training and doing very well. I've talked to some of you throughout the weekend and you know there were days I was ready to throw in the towel, heck I think it changed every 5 minutes. But Sunday afternoon/night she went potty twice. I was hoping that it would click with her yesterday morning (I decided Sunday to take Monday off) but she was still a little hesitant to sit on her potty. However she ended up doing it and has been teeteeing in the potty ever since. We are so PROUD of her! That's really an understatement. I wish she knew how proud we really were. I knew she'd get it, she's very smart but like I said there were moments I thought she might not but sure enough with patience and consistency she got it! I know we'll probably have an accident here or there but we are done with diapers. She has been in big girl panties since Friday! I have to say she's absolutely adorable in them and even looks more like a BIG GIRL! So thank you everyone who listened, or offered advice whether I took it or not. I really do appreciate it! Hope you are all having a great week and had a great Mother's Day!

Here is a picture taken last week of our BIG GIRL! She's so cute!! The purse is as big as her but she totes it everywhere!! A little diva already!!

Happy Thursday!

Sorry I've been MIA this week, actually not a lot to talk about and I forgot to get my pictures off my camera so I just decided to wait. I do however have some with me today. I hope you are all having a great week! This is my Friday and tonight I'm headed to the lake for the first time this summer. Really looking forward to it. Our 6th anniversary is Sunday and that is hard to believe. Part of me feels like it just happened yesterday and the other part feels like it was forever ago! Either way I don't know what I'd do without Ben. He's an amazing husband and an even better father! I love you Ben! Sunday is also Mother's Day so we're celebrating 2 events this weekend, so it should be fun. Here are some cute pictures of Emma and her daddy after bathtime Friday night. They are so sweet. She wanted him to lay down with her and all her animals and then proceeded to cover him up. (As you can see she wanted to play before brushing her wet hair!) Hope you enjoy!

Getting ready to lay with Daddy!

She decided she needed to fix his covers she had already put on him once! Here she is using her wet towel to cover him up with, still sweet though!

Now he gets the dry blankie on top!

Now it's her turn to lay down too!

Chatting with Daddy!

Happy Thursday!
