Our Beach Trip...Part 3

This is just a few pictures my mom got of Emma.







This is the same white dress she wore last year and I love it! I plan to take some of the pictures I've posted in the last 3 posts and make them black and white and print them. We had a great time this year at the beach and I can't wait to go back next year.

Our Beach Trip...Part 2

Here are some more pictures of Emma playing at the beach. She's checking out the water and thinking about if she wants to get in. It was so CLEAR that day.

This was later in the afternoon and even though we had been putting 50 spf on her she was getting a little too much sun so she was playing with Nana's cover up.

We went and rode go carts one night. That was fun too!



After we did that she wanted to swing.



The last night we were there we took pictures of Emma and Brooks in their white outfits. Emma wasn't sure she wanted her picture taken so I took pictures of Brooks and my mom took pictures of Emma so I've got to get the pictures of Emma from her. I'm going to make some of these black and white however I haven't done that yet!

Our Beach Trip...Part 1

We went to the beach a couple of weeks ago and I can't believe I haven't posted about it yet. We were going the first of July for the Jimmy Buffett concert but it was canceled and re-scheduled and we were fortunate enough to get out of the condo we were originally staying in and finding another one at a very reasonable price. The concert was a lot of fun and I'm glad we went to support the gulf coast! The beach was beautiful and we saw no oil at all. The last morning we were there we went back out to the beach one last time with Emma and Brooks and we saw some tar balls that had washed up but it was nothing major. I think the media blew it way out of proportion and unforunately the people down there suffered. I know it was bad in some areas but it's nothing like what they've made it look like and hopefully it won't be that way ever. Only time will tell. Now on to some pictures from our trip.

This was our attempt to get a picture of the 4 of us in the pool. Emma was not wanting her picture made and Brooks is just looking around.



It didn't take long to wear Brooks out. He normally only naps for a short time in the morning so we figured since it was breezy we'd leave him out there. We put him in his float on a chair and he slept good there till a fly came and tickled his foot.



Here is a picture of Emma and Ben. They went swimming one night together and Emma had a blast.



My mom was kind enough to go with us so she could watch the kids while we went to the concert. Here is a picture of Brooks with her after we put sunblock all over. His hair has grown so much!!

Miss Sassy with her hand on her hip. As you can see behind her, the beach was really dead. It looked like it was February down there instead of middle of July. It was sad.

We went down to the Wharf one night to eat dinner and me and Emma rode the ferris wheel. It was fun, but I don't like stopping at the top to let people off. Emma didn't mind at all though! She's definitely going to be our daredevil!

Brooks is 9 months old...

I say this every month, but I can't believe Brooks is already 9 months old. It's flown by and I want it to slow down!! He's such a good, happy baby and we love him SO MUCH!! Here is what he's up to these days.

-Brooks, you weigh around 18 lbs and wear size 3 diapers
-You are wearing 6-9 month clothes
-You still take 5 bottles a day and it's usually 2 6 oz bottles and the rest are about 4 oz.
-You eat baby food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, however we have let you try some table food and you love it all. Actually you get mad if we're holding you and trying to eat something and we don't let you taste it.
-You can drink from a sippy cup really good, but your even better at drinking out of a big cup with no lid. I guess your wanting to skip the sippy cup phase!
-You have taken 1 step all by yourself since last month, it's a matter of time now.
-You either crawl where you want to go or you get up and push something and walk to where you want to go.
-You can stand up all by yourself now. If your sitting and want to stand you can do it without holding on to anything. When we realize your standing we clap and say yay Brooks and you get so excited, it's so cute.
-You are sleeping through the night and for that we are thankful!
-You can say dada, momma, nana, quack-quack and we think you are saying hey now
-You clap your hands anytime we say yay Brooks or when you do something your proud of
-We sit and roll the ball back and forth to you all the time and you do so good at rolling it back to us and catching it, we can even tell you to get the ball and you go straight to it.
-You absolutely love your sister and wish she'd play with you all day long, when yall are playing together it melts my heart.

Your smiling so big your eyes are barely open, you get this from mommy!

I'm sure there are some things I'm forgetting that you are doing because you do something new everyday and you are so smart and strong! We love you so much and can't believe in 3 short months you'll be 1 year old. I could cry just thinking about it! Happy 9 month birthday sweet baby boy!!

BIG NEWS w/Brooks

I don't have any pictures to share right now, but I wanted to make sure I didn't forget this. Brooks took 1 step by himself last night!!!! Me and Emma saw it and Ben didn't. He was sad. We were so excited though clapping at him and dancing around him. He probably thought we were crazy!! I can't believe at less then 9 months he took a step. He's one strong, smart little boy and we could just eat him to pieces. Pictures coming soon I promise!!

Swimming w/Friends

I've been MIA lately, I know! But we've been busy. After the 4th we went to the beach to see Jimmy Buffett and it was oh so fun. Pictures to come later. Last Saturday we went to one of my really good friends house for a day of fun at her pool. Thank you Tammie for having us. I have been friends with Tammie and Heather for 11 years in August. It started with me going to work for Tammie when I was in college and turned into a friendship with them both that I truly cherish. We've been there for each other as we've changed jobs, gotten married, had ups and had downs. They are what friendship is ALL about! I know I could call either of them at the drop of a hat and they'd be there. For that, I am forever greatful! Here are some pictures I stole from Heather's blog since I didn't have my camera.

4th of July weekend

Last weekend we went to the lake and Amber, Jarred, Jacob & Colyn came up. Amy, Mark and Braegan were going to come but Braegan was sick so they weren't able to make it. We had a great time and the weather was beautiful. Here are some pictures that Amber sent me from the weekend. I have more but they are on my mom's camera and I haven't gotten them from her.
