Emma's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was Emma's first day of kindergarten. I was a ball of nerves by the end of last week but then during the weekend I was rather calm. All that was out the window by Monday morning. I woke up well before my alarm went off and was crying as soon as I woke up. I got it together and got her ready for her BIG day. She was all giddy and excited about her first day of school. I saw this idea on Pinterest a while back and knew I wanted to do this with her. Her answer to what she's wanted to be when she grows up has not changed at all for the last 2 years or so. I think it's so sweet!

We couldn't leave Iggy Pop out of her first day adventures!

This was her project she had to take the first day! She worked so hard on it Sunday night.

My sweet baby girl ready for BIG school

Where oh where have the last 5 years gone?
She was so proud of her backpack. She said mom, I'm sure glad we got the big one,
all her stuff barely fit!
She wanted a first day picture with Zoe too!
(I would have fixed Zoe's hair as well had I known)
Little Miss Priss with her lunch box
Ready to go! Her special request was that Zoe went with us!
So giddy, laughing and carrying on with Brooks waiting in carline!
Walking out from her first day!

She was so happy to be back in the car headed home!

She had a great first day! Even though she was so happy in carline when the little boy (safety patrol) opened the door, she had this look like no and started crying. I think she thought an adult was gonna open the door. Luckily the principal was walking down and she came up and introduced herself and got her out of the car. Ben turned back and made sure she was ok as I drove off. The principal took her by each car and let her watch everyone get out. I thought that was a sweet gesture she did! All the emotions of the morning got me though and I drove off in tears. I was so glad the day was short though and she got out early. When I asked her the best part of school she was she said all of it. I'd say all in all we had a successful 1st day of school!

Emma Bean I love you more the words could ever describe. I can NOT believe you are in BIG school now. I can't wait to see what all new things you learn and discover this year!!
