I'm back...

I started this post a week ago and never finished it. So here goes, I'm sorry I've been a little MIA lately. I'm going to try and get back to blogging on a regular basis so I can record everything. To say things have been busy is an understatement. We are extremely busy at work right now which is a good thing so by the time I get home the last thing I want to do is blog. I'm even a little behind on reading my blogs. But I am not complaining!!

Anyway, 2 weeks ago me and Shannon took the kids to the carnival. Here are some pictures. Emma wasn't too interested in it but she did ride the carousel.

It was great weather and even though Emma didn't ride anything but the carousel it was still nice to be outside. Hopefully the great weather is here to stay. Later that night we had our monthly girls night. We had so much fun! I can't say this enough but I truly enjoy my monthly night with them. They make me laugh hard, have a good time and have great converations during it all. Here are some pictures from the night.

There was a picture of Leann holding a bag of ice but it didn't turn out good but I know all the girls would laugh (I know your probably thinking how can that be funny...can't explain it, it just was). Leann, if you read this, tell Davey I said to hook the ice machine up, it will be ok we all promise! :)

Look what I won this weekend...

We ran in our 2nd 5K race this weekend and I won 1st place in my age range 20-29 (and might I add I'm at the back end of that age group...might be the only time I'm happy I'm at the end of that age range)! Can you believe it? I can't. To say I'm excited is an understatement. I never in a million years thought I would win. I went into it purely wanting to beat my time of 31 minutes 41 seconds from last week. Everyone had said this was a flat course (I would not say it was flat at all) and easy. Once we got started we quickly realized it wasn't as flat as they made it seem. At that point I just wanted to do it in the same amount of time I had last week. So I kept pushing through with my running buddy Blake (Amy was behind us but did oh so good as well) and we finished in 29 minutes and 20 seconds. So not only did I beat my time from last week, I beat my goal I had set for myself this week which was to finish in 30 minutes. I was SUPER pumped!!

I wish the weather had been better but it was still a good time. Ben, Emma and Brooks were there as well but we didn't get any pictures. If you would have told me a year ago I'd be running and have already completed my 2nd race I would have laughed at you (and for those of you that don't know I work out all the time and have for years). However, I have never liked running or even attempted it. But after doing personal training at the first of the year, our trainer liked to run, and it got me going. I now know why people say it's addicting. It gives you a great sense of accomplishment once your done. Who knows...maybe next year I can attempt a half marathon. We'll just have to see. In the meantime, I hope to run all this baby weight off me! :)

Leah's 30th birthday

This weekend we celebrated one of my very best friends 30th birthday. We had a great time, but I do admit it was funny how early the night ended compared to how late we used to stay out. We went to this great Martini Piano bar here that has been around forever. I don't know if the place will ever get old. The same guy has been there year after year and he's still as good as he always was. Here are some pictures.

My first 5K...

So this Saturday morning I ran my first 5K. I've walked one before but never done a run. I was so proud of myself and still am. My goal is to keep going and see how far I can make it, and how I can improve my time. I ran with Amy and Blake. I think we all beat the times we were striving for. I ran it in 31 minutes and 41 seconds. The results were posted earlier. I was ranked 13th in my age range out of 31. I was so excited since it was my first run!

We have another 5K run this weekend coming up and I can honestly say I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully the weather will be as nice as it was this weekend.

It's time for cereal...

Brooks went to the doctor Friday for his 4 month checkup. He weighs 13 lbs 14 oz and is 26 inches long. He's 25% for weight and 90% for height. We now get to start him on cereal, then all the fruits, then we try veggies. I know he'll love this. We gave him cereal Friday night for the fist time, he wasn't quite sure what to think about it. Here are some pictures of him trying it.

Saturday morning he was not very impressed with cereal at all. I think we'll try a fruit today, I'm sure he'll like that.

Brooks is 4 months...

Here are 3 pictures from our photo shoot. I had a bib on him till I took it and he still managed to get his shirt wet! He's drooling all the time these days.







I can not believe my sweet baby boy is 4 months old. I know I've said this before but he is SUCH a good baby. I swear he wakes up smiling, eats smiling, plays smiling, and goes to bed smiling. Everytime you look at him he's smiling. It's the sweetest thing ever. He's just such a happy baby.

Brooks, your just now in size 2 diapers. You eat 5 oz every 3 hours. You get to start cereal tomorrow when we go to the doctor. You are wearing 3-6 month clothes. You can roll from belly to back and back to belly...your doing this much sooner then you should. You squeal and babble more and more lately. You are constantly drooling. You want to play with Emma so bad you can't stand it. Everything makes you laugh and you are ticklish from head to toe. You go to bed between 7:30 and 8 and wake up to eat around 9ish and then sleep till 6 the next morning. You are such a snuggle bug and just recently have taken to your tiger cuddle blanket. All I have to do is put it to your face and you are out if you are sleepy at all. We all love you so, so much! The days are going by much, much faster then I care for them too.

Here are some pictures of my sweet babies. I mentioned I'd post them a week ago from our mini photo shoot and forgot.

Excuse her hair, she hadn't had it brushed from taking a bath but wanted to jump in.











She looks just like I did when I was little with her hair pulled back. Maybe I'll post a picture one day of me when I was little! And maybe I can get her to open her eyes a little more next time! :)
