It's my party and I'll cry if I want too...

Well, not really unless you count crying from laughing so hard! A few short weeks ago I had my 30th birthday. I decided right away no "Over the Hill" stuff or anything like that. We were going to keep it simple and just do a cookout in the back yard but then Amber suggested an 80's party since that was the decade I was born. I'm so glad she suggested it and it was SO MUCH FUN dressing up! I think every party should be a dress up party! We had good food, good 80s music and a whole lot of fun! I have to say it was a GREAT 30th Birthday! Here are some (or a lot of) pictures. Somehow we didn't manage to get any pictures of Leah and Dustin but they were there celebrating too!

I think that about wraps it up. I'd like to say that after this year there will be no more birthdays but I know that's not true! So in keeping with the "changing" times, I am now going to attempt a bucket list...40 things I want to do before I turn 40. Hopefully these next 10 years will go by really slow though!

Beach Trip 2011...Part 2

Here are more pictures from our beach trip. Again in no particular order as I have them scattered! I had full intentions of blogging each night so they would all be in order but I didn't! It was actually kind of nice not being tied to a computer for a week! :)

Beach Trip 2011...Part 1

Ahh, this time 2 weeks ago I was sitting on the beach with my babies and not 30 years old. A lot has happened in 2 short weeks! We decided to try somewhere new this year. I say new because we haven't been to Panama City since our senior trips after graduating high school. Everyone had told us it had changed...I was leary, I'm not going to lie and Ben was just down right not believing them, lol! But we found a great deal on a great condo on the beach and decided to try it out. We had the best time I think we've ever had on a vacation. I'm not sure how to explain it but it was so low key, so relaxing and just so much fun with the kids. They are at GREAT ages right now for the beach and we just really enjoyed having that time with them. My mom came down to stay with us part of the week and then we were on our own the rest of the week. Here are some pictures from our week! Oh and for the record, while it was probably our best vacation, it had nothing to do with PCB. It had changed quite a bit and is a LOT nicer then it was back in the day but I think Orange Beach and Gulf Shores is the place for us! These are in no particular order either as I have pictures on 2 different memory cards somehow!

Waiting on the elevator to go hunt seashells early one morning...he wore his sunglasses everywhere!

Pretty girl...

Looking for seashells!

Brooks checking out the water

Emma loved the beach but wasn't impressed with the water this year. She did get in the ocean but it didn't last long!

Silly girl...

We went down every morning and looked for seashells before we got ready for the day. Here is another picture of my 2 cuties!

Playing on the beach

Love this picture...I would love know what she's thinking and what she thinks when she looks out and sees water forever and ever.

He's gotten so big, yes he has, but he looks oh so little when you step back!

Sweet, precious feet...love this one!

While Mommy's away...I'm still missed!

I went on my annual girls beach trip a couple of weeks ago and had great time. While I was gone the kids were busy having too much fun and Ben was busy working on stuff around the house to surprise me. Emma spent the night with Nancy while I was gone and Brooks stayed with my mom. They went to the pool Saturday and had fun. But when it was all said and done they still missed their momma and that made my heart melt. When I got home here is what I found.

Emma and Brooks had made me all these pretty pictures!

My sweet Emma Bean

All the pictures they did, or should I say Emma did, there are a few Brooks colored though.

Ben was so sweet as well and painted the half bath (I'd been wanting to do it for sometime now), re-painted all the trim, stained the deck and put in a flower bed where we were having water issues by the playhouse. I couldn't believe all he did and it meant so much to me! I'm so blessed with a sweet hubby and 2 precious children!

Music Time

There is no doubt about it, Emma and Brooks love music! Brooks actually knows all the words to Jesus Loves Me and that's because it's Emma's favorite song. I keep wanting to try and video him singing it, it's the sweetest thing! Here they are listening to their cd's before bed.

I love how he's looking at her and smiling.

Something is funny, love this one!

I sure do love my sweet babies!

Brooks is sleepy...

We always know after bath when Brooks is sleepy because he will literally be Emma's baby doll! He will do whatever she asks him too. One night she convinced him to let her push him in the baby stroller. She pushed him through the living room, kitchen and dining room for a good 30 to 45 minutes before bed. It was too sweet! Here are some pictures.

Since he was willing to be her baby she still couldn't leave out her other babies and loaded him down but he didn't mind!

Such a sweet sister!!
