One proud momma...

Emma has started learning to write her name in pre-school this year. It's truly amazing to watch her learn new things like this. How did my sweet baby that couldn't even write a year ago get to where she can write her first and last name and even Brooks' name? Time is going way too fast! I know I say that all the time but it's almost too much to take. No, actually it is too much to take in!! I want time to stand still even if only for a minute!! My baby girl isn't quite a baby anymore (although she'll always be my baby girl)! I should add these pictures were taken with my phone so they aren't the best quality. I want to add on the first picture Brooks got a hold of the crayon and started to color on it, I thought she was going to die. It was too funny but she did NOT want him messing up her name! She asked on her own how to do Brooks' name just this past Sunday and had already written the B when she asked me. She's so AMAZING!!!

Weekend Recap...

We had a laid back weekend this past weekend. We had a birthday party to go to for one of Emma's friends and that was about it. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and played outside most of the weekend. Here are a few pictures.

Emma getting ready for the party. I think she asked me if it was time to go all day. She was so excited and loves Roxana. These pictures were taken with my phone so they aren't great but I could cry looking at them. She looked like such a "big" girl Saturday. Where has the time gone??

Sunday we went to church and Brooks looked so cute that I had to take a few pictures. (Emma did too but I didn't get any pictures of her.) I bought this outfit for him a while back and he's just now big enough to wear it.

He's mastered saying "uh oh" in the last week and so he dropped something so he could say it again! It's too cute and I think it's his new favorite thing to say and do now.

Here are some pictures of them playing outside. Brooks can slide down by himself now and thinks it's hilarious!

Emma decided when no one was looking that it would be fun to put sand on the table and then put water on top and mix it all together. They were 1 big mess by the end of it, but that's ok they had a blast! Excuse Brooks' oreo mouth!

It was a great weekend and just made us want Spring and Summer to be here even more now!

Daddy's Little Valentine...

So we weren't supposed to do anything for Valentine's Day but Ben brought me flowers and a card home. He also brought Emma a single rose all wrapped up and she was beside herself! The picture was taken with my phone.

Thank you Ben and we love you!!! You are such a sweet husband and daddy!

15 Months

Brooks turned 15 months old on February 4th. I'm a little behind in posting but wanted to make sure I did so I would remember what he was up to these days.

Brooks:

-You wear 12-18 month clothes
-You are in size 4 diapers
-You can point to your nose, ears, eyes and mouth when we ask you to show us what they are
-Emma taught you how to flip and you can do it by yourself and try all the time
-You can now climb on the couch and chair in the living room (you are our little monkey)
-Your vocabulary has grown so much. You can say mama, dada, Emma, Nana, bye, yea, dog, stinky, night night, hi, hot, down stairs, bum bum, yum, cheese (when we take your picture), pa pa (for paci), I don't know and thank you. Some of these are so clear everyone would know what they are and others like down stairs, I don't know and thank you might not be quite as clear, although we know what you are saying. There are several other words you are so close to saying, you just haven't mastered them yet
-You blow kisses and it's so sweet
-You sleep from 8 at night to about 7 or 8 the next morning
-You normally only take one 2 hour nap in the afternoon
-When you are hungry or thirsty you go to the refrigerator or the pantry and stand there till we come and if we don't you come and get us and take us over there.
-You have your own little vacuum and you love it (although you prefer the big one). Anytime I'm vacuuming you get it out and follow me all over the house. If I move something (that's light of course) to vacuum you come behind me and move it and vacuum and then put it back. It's too cute!
-You love to crawl up and slide down the steps
-You love to run around and play chase

We love you so, so much and can't believe how big you have gotten and how much you have grown. You are so laid back, yet you have just enough of a temper to let us all know you are here. You adore Emma and are fascinated with Zoe (our dog). Your daddy was in charge of the pictures this time and these are the best 2 we got!

We went to the doctor for your checkup Friday and you weigh exactly 20 lbs (3% for weight) and you are 32 inches tall (75% for height). You had a great checkup and Dr. Blair said you were perfect, which we already knew!

We love you sweet baby boy!!

The Greatest Show on Earth!!

Sunday we went to the circus with Amber, Jarred and Jacob. This was our 3rd year to go. We always go with them, so it has kind of become a tradition like Halloween. We decided to leave Brooks at home because we didn't think he'd make it the entire time. I'm glad we decided to do that because it seemed REALLY long. It wasn't nearly as good as it was last year but we still had fun. More importantly, Emma had fun and that's all that matters. Although I do think she'd agree it could have been a little shorter. Here are some pictures I took from the day.

These 2 guys were brothers and unusually/awkwardly strong.

These people just made me nervous!

Emma & Jacob at intermission

The Tigers

The Elephants...I have several pictures of them because it was Emma's favorite part. It is quite fascinating what they can get them to do as well as the tigers.

The Finale

I'm sure next year Brooks will join us at the circus!
