I've been TAGGED!

Heather tagged me to list six unimportant things that make me happy. Here are the rules: 1) List Six Unimportant Things That Make You Happy. 2) Mention and link to the person who tagged you. 3) Tag six of your favorite bloggers to play along, and comment on their blog to let them know they've been tagged. Here's my list:

1. Clean sheets, I didn't even have to think of this one. If I could wash them everyday I would but that's not realistic.

2. Tivo - I can't live without it (so this technically might not be considered unimportant on my list!)

3. Short lines at the grocery store or anywhere for that matter, can it get any better then this? This is very rare.

4. A clean house, I know this sounds simple but with a 2 year old it's nearly impossible to have a clean house all the time. Although I wouldn't trade her for a clean house, she's everything to us!

5. Emma talking in the backseat of the car, it means I have a healthy baby girl who can talk (which is very important) and boy do I love to hear what she has to say or what she's even singing at times. It brings a smile to my face any time!

6. Diet Mt. Dew - I could not live without it! :)

I now tag:

1. Amber
2. Ashley
3. Amy
4. Tiffany
5. Shannon
6. Tara

Happy Birthday to My Princess!!

Emma is OFFICIALLY 2!! We have had a great day so far, it started with her birthday present, then followed by going to the Zoo, and then to lunch. She had so much fun she fell asleep in the car on the way home. I will post pictures from our trip to the Zoo another day. For now here are pictures of my sweet, precious baby girl over the last 2 years. I hope you all enjoy! I can't imagine our lives without her in it. Everyday with her is AMAZING! I love her more then words can ever say!

Tomorrow my baby girl turns 2...

So tomorrow Miss Emma Bean turns 2 at exactly 12:55 p.m. I can not believe it. Where has the last 2 years gone? I can't think about it or it makes me sad. I'm so excited about each new day and adventure with her but it literally feels like it's passing before me so fast I can't savor it enough! I was extremely emotional around her first birthday and I just figured it was because it was such a monumental birthday. Well I was wrong. I've found myself just as emotional this week (just like last year...it lasted the entire week of her birthday). It's like I can't hold her long enough at night time or kiss her enough or get enough of her. It is like I'm clinging to her. One day that will drive her crazy, I know! But until then I'm just going to continue to smother her with love and kisses!

Last night we asked her what she wanted for her birthday (she's been singing Happy Birthday all week)and she said presents and grinned real big and I said what else and she said as plain as day..."baby sister". Ben and I both laughed. Ben said how about a baby brother and before she could answer he said what is baby brother's name and she said "Baby Brother Brooks". It was so sweet. So I think truth be told she really wanted a little sister but I know when her little brother gets here she'll love him just the same! My plan is either tonight or tomorrow to post pictures of Miss Emma from the last 2 years. Like I said that's my plan, we'll see if that happens. :) I am off tomorrow for Emma's birthday and we're going to the Zoo and lunch. I can't wait, I can't think of a better way to spend the day!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Pictures

I was supposed to post these Thursday and forgot. Here are some pictures from not this weekend but the weekend before. We went to my mother-in-law's house, she has a pool and we had a good time. The water was pretty cold but Emma didn't care, she played on the steps and had a good time.

I had to take a behind picture, she just looks so cute! Such a big girl!

Here she is putting her baby in the water! She's such a good mommy!

We don't want baby to get a sunburn so Emma decided she needed sunblock lotion too!

After putting the sunblock on baby, she wanted to wash her hands off!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Our Little Princess...

I finally remembered to get the pictures off the camera. Here are just a few cute pictures of our little princess!

Here are a few pictures of Emma dancing while watching the finale of Dancing with the Stars. We don't normally watch it but when we were flipping through the channels and she started dancing we ended up watching the whole thing. It was too cute! I wish I had it on video.

We saw a backpack this weekend at a birthday party (for a boy) we went too and I loved it. Emma starts Mother's Day Out in the fall so I went to get her one. I'm glad I went because this was the last one like this one. I'm going to get her name or initials put on it I just haven't decided which yet so I didn't do it. She LOVES her backpack and has been carrying it around ever since. She looks like such a big girl!!

Tomorrow I'll post some pictures from our weekend. There are several good ones!!

Happy Wednesday!

Another good recipe...

Well 2 actually. Last night I made Swiss Stuffing Chicken and Green Bean Bundles and boy were they both yummy! I found them here, if you don't check Kelly's recipe blog you should. I've tried several things on there and they are all good. I'm completely satisfied so far! Emma LOVED them both but you could tell the green bean bundles were her favorite. She was not real interested in the bacon just the green beans themselves and boy were they yummy! If you decide to try them please let me know. Also if you have any great recipes that are easy that you can prepare the night before please let me know. With work and then the gym everyday I need something like a casserole I can put together the night before so I'm always open for ideas.

I forgot to get my pictures from the weekend off the camera again so I'm going to leave you with a picture from our Girls Night Out group. This is definitely my extended family! I love all my girls so much and don't know what I would do without their friendship. For those of you that don't know most of us went to high school together and most all have kids around the same age and then 4 of us are pregnant together right now, 3 with 2nd children and 1 with her first! Just thought I'd give you all a little update!

We have a name...

I can not believe it either! It took us forever with Emma. Her name was a name I said I liked before we were married but when it was time to actually give her a name I was completely overwhelmed. But it was the ONE name we both liked a lot so we went with it. This time I expected it to be difficult as we are having a boy and I haven't given much thought to boy names, not even when I was pregnant with Emma. So we got out our belly book from Emma and only really liked 2 from the list of boy names we did have then that we were both ok with. Then Memorial Day weekend we're talking and I remember a name I've been in love with forever. I knew then that's what I wanted but was it what Ben wanted?? After talking about it and him telling me his favorite we did somewhat comprise. We'll use the name he likes and the name I like as first and middle but he'll go by his middle name (which is my favorite). I think it is a great name, and I hope you all do too! After we said this was his name I got that same overwhelming feeling again I did with Emma. It's a big deal naming your child, I mean they are stuck with that name forever. I can only hope both of my children like their names.

So finally for the name...it will be Ethan Brooks but he will go by Brooks. Emma still wants to name him sister but she will say Ethan Brooks and it is so sweet! We'll have to tell him one day how if it had been up to Emma his name would be sister. I'm sure he'll appreciate it! LOL! I'll post some pictures soon from our weekend. It was busy but we had fun and I think I got some cute pictures from the pool yesterday!

Happy Monday!
